Functional Sounds
Sound follows function
Procedure
Every day, people are exposed to a variety of acoustic stimuli that they find difficult to avoid. These stimuli represent an important psychological influence for the corresponding environment. A typical background noise is made up of the work-related sound sources (conversations and noises) and the different, prescribed acoustic information, warning and alarm signals of the respective devices. The reliable assignment and emotional correspondence of the functional sounds are important safeguards for employees and customers.
Use
User experience (UX) sound design has the goal of improving the usability of products or services and making operation more intuitive.
